Niall Mutter is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lucan, Ontario. Spending most of his life oscillating between the seasons, tree planting in the Canadian bush in the summer and escaping to the mountains out west for the winter. When a friend invited him out to Quebec for a couple weeks, he pulled into Montreal’s tightly knit music community and never left. Couch surfing in the middle of a raging pandemic gave him the instability and disheveled edge he needed to bring his songwriting hiatus to an end.

Niall Mutter invites you to his cozy Montreal basement to have a heartwarming holiday in his musical universe through his first EP ‘Pass Me By’, which the Nice Guys team is happy to present.

With this bundle made of five seducing songs, the musician and lyricist brings up universal themes like love, human relationships, the self; leaving the listener hanging on his words. He uses a careful blend of pop and indie rock to create groovy melodies. Guitar, piano, a synthesizer with a seventie’s aura and of course drums, just add the smooth voice of Niall to leave you wondering. ‘Pass Me By’ is the experience of a sweet moment of recollection, of sincere happiness.
