about

Oscillating from his younger age between different countries, Hector Gachan is like the image of his music : Timeless and without borders. At only 25 years old, Hector GacHan released a promising first album.

Based in Sydney, the young man also lived in Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It’s in the privacy of his room that he composes pop hits with immediate efficiency. This album ‘Untitled ‘91’ has great ambitions whilst keeping a laid-back aesthetic.

With shades of the Alternative Pop of the Gorillaz, Mac DeMarco’s romantic undertones, the melancholic daydreaming of Jorge Ben’s ‘Forca Bruta’ album and the white lo-fi groove of Part Time, Hector Gachan manages to create mini pop hits within the confines of his humble abode, lyrically touching upon and merging the memories of his not too distant upbringing in Eastern Europe and the possibilities of what’s to come in his current juncture in Sydney, Australia.

He thus delivers twelve pop songs. Resolutely DIY, Hector Gachan writes about the turbulence of his 21st century life as no land’s man, in no man’s land. Offbeat yet sometimes tongue in cheek texts that recall those of John Maus and Ariel Pink. Two other idols of which the young man claims.
