about
Based in Great-Britain, Tutankhamun is the solo project of Olly Toomey. Discovered by the BBC, he started his musical journey with inspirations ranging from Zig Zag to The Gautiers and created this long player with a 70’s feel to it. His song Garden stands out by being more upbeat and optimistic although it’s quite a nostalgic song, about looking back and wondering if anything could have happened differently. This contrast is all the craft that resides in the artist’s music.
lyrics
He asked himself so many times why
He never changed his mind
It happened all the time
Promises went round and round inside
He avoided all the eyes
But she couldn’t ask him why
She was alone in a place outside unquestioning
In the night it came unstuck
But in the end it all seemed fine
But if it breaks, it’ll fall, if it breaks, it’ll fall
This went over over in his mind
She was a long in the garden, the laughter and the rain
You wanna turn it round, wanna turn it out the ground
I know that the garden was never the same for you
Take your time in the garden, the tears fall in the rain
I wanna help you out, wanna pull you out the ground
I know that the garden is never the same for you
A truly stunning album that mentally transports you to foggy early morning streets, the pavement wet from recent rains. Dreary, but in a comforting way. Like sitting next to a window during a rainstorm, listening to the drops hit the glass while remaining warm. Never fails to make me feel safe. Crow Yo
