about
‘In A Dream’ is the third single from A.M. Son’s upcoming second album ‘Edge of the Divide’. Reminiscent of the likes of Bon Iver or Angelo de Augustine with a slightly high-pitched voice and chill guitars, this new track is an ode to nostalgia and melancholy. Created to make anyone feel as if they were on the shores of a lake or in a small mountain cabin daydreaming and thinking, ‘In A Dream’ would be an ideal fit for playlists with chill vibes and folk music.
lyrics
In a dream under the silk moon
You turned to me, how could I refuse?
A whisper far off told to let the night unfold
From a different point of view
The shadows turned to stone
Suddenly a path arose
Where forgotten flowers bloom
We walked along a winding stream
Wandering on aimlessly
I never knew you were dreaming, too
In between the truth and a bird’s lie
Two figurines embracing beneath the hallowed sky
Balanced on a beam
Cascading serpentine coils of firelight dance by
Perfectly entwined among a night divine
Where the fabled angels fly
To live and die beside the stream
Where all that is is meant to be
Where I am you and the dream is true
Where I am you and the dream is true
I never knew you were dreaming, too
A truly stunning album that mentally transports you to foggy early morning streets, the pavement wet from recent rains. Dreary, but in a comforting way. Like sitting next to a window during a rainstorm, listening to the drops hit the glass while remaining warm. Never fails to make me feel safe. Crow Yo
I picked Brown Study purely for the Jens Lekman vibes. However, this entire album just gets more comfortable with every listen. This might be a niche take, but to me it's as if singer/songwriter Jens Lekman turned his hand to dream pop and trip hop while taking the rhythmic vibes of Cigarettes After Sex and dialing them up to "waking up in the morning after sex" tempo. It's a sonic trip is all I can say. riotgrrrl_meg
